READ THIS BEFORE ORDERING
- If you want an inside return and an outside return on your trim - adding an outside return will reduce how far the inside return goes into the wall cavity. As an example, if the outside return is 20mm and you want 50mm of the inside return to go into the wall cavity you will require an inside return of (50mm + 20mm) = 70mm. The minimum inside return size is 10mm
- If measuring internal width and internal height of an old trim - make sure to measure from the front of the old trim. If you measure from the back of the trim you may include the thickness of the metal which would add approximately another 4mm onto the height and 8mm onto the width resulting in the final trim not fitting.
- When we refer to INTERNAL TRIM WIDTH and INTERNAL TRIM HEIGHT measurements - We are always referring to the internal measurements of the trim (measured from the front)
External trim measurements would be calculated by using the following formulas.
External Trim Width = Internal Trim Width + Face + Face
External Trim Height = Internal Trim Height + Face
- When we refer to WALL OPENING WIDTH and WALL OPENING HEIGHT measurements - We are always referring to the size of the hole in your wall. When you provide us this measurement we will make the trim very slightly smaller (but a snug fit).
To ensure your trim fits into the wall opening we have to make allowances. Internal trim measurements (measured from the front of the trim) would be calculated by using the following formulas.
Internal Trim Width = Wall Opening Width - 8mm (thickness of the material on the inside return either side) - 4mm (allowance for manufacturing tolerance)
Internal Trim Height = Wall Opening Height - 4mm (thickness of the material on the inside return) - 4mm (allowance for manufacturing tolerance)

Product Questions
How do you attach the fireplace trim to the wall?
Question by: Jim on 25 Sep 2017 15:12:00
We would recommend a heat resistant silicone such as our "heat mate sealant" to fit this to the wall.

Question by: Adam on 1 Jul 2017 18:35:00
the trim comes in 1 piece but unfortunately we don't do samples

What does number of sides refer to?
Question by: Oana on 27 Apr 2023 12:35:00

Question by: Mike Wilson on 31 Oct 2023 11:20:00
The fire trims we do will stick to a magnetic surface but we do not provide the magnets.
Answer by: Joanne McAnulty (Admin) on 21 Nov 2023 14:24:00
Hello. Do you make a curved trim. We have a slight arch we would like to keep. Detailed picture can be provided.
Question by: Gavin Gager on 1 Oct 2017 21:20:00
We can only make these trims in straight 90 degree lines, no curves unfortunately.
Answer by: Dave . (Admin) on 2 Oct 2017 14:24:00
I have a fireplace wich currently has a brass surround trim which I want to get rid of. Can I fit this over the top or would I need to remove old one (it's reluctant to budge)!
Question by: Karen Leighton Jones on 26 Oct 2017 12:27:00
We could make a trim to go over the top however the measurements we need would be more complicated so we would advise to try and take off the old trim and take measurements from that.
Answer by: Dave . (Admin) on 14 Nov 2017 15:02:00
Hi, I would be grateful if you could confirm if the trim is sufficient to protect a timber surround against heat from a multi fuel stove please? Many thanks, Jack.
Question by: Jack Beaumont on 30 Oct 2018 21:07:00
This is hard to answer, if the timber is not right next to the trim it should be fine but we really couldn't confim it would protect the wood if it was right next to it.

Hi, Can I order a made to measure firetrim in Stainless Steel /chrome without the Bevel detail?

Answer by: Gillian Bridge (Admin) on 21 Mar 2023 13:49:00
What material is the trim made from?
If metal, is it welded and are the welds ground flush?
Are the copper and stainless steel finishes produced using paint or are these the material of construction?
If a paint finish is used is the paint high temperature type that allows the frame to be located close to the stove surface?
Question by: Tom Gunn on 18 Aug 2017 14:16:00
The base of the trim is made from steel and is welded together and all welds are ground flush and finished to an extremely high standard. For black trims this is then sprayed over with a heat resistant paint which can be used very close to stoves or fires without bubbling or causing any problems due to the heat. With other finishes such as copper, chrome or brass a thin sheet (around 1.5mm thick) of the relevant material is then fabricated over the top of the steel frame to provide the relevant finish.
